Take-Off Estimator

Location: Mendota Heights, MN

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing quantity take-offs, communicate with vendors to obtain pricing, assemble bids and send pricing out to general contractors, answer inbound calls and follow-up on bid results. Support our sales team by reviewing and familiarizing self with the job details. Provide excellent customer service and align all practices with organization objectives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contractors to solidify bid awards.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist with managing bid calendar, preparing bid documents and completing pre-bid tasks

Review new bid opportunity emails

Use industry specific software to organize bids and obtain pricing

Communicate with vendors for quotes and pricing

Analyze and evaluate specifications, drawings and documents to accurately prepare material and labor estimates

Compile take off counts and enter pricing to prepare for Estimator review

Prioritize and juggle multiple projects and hard deadlines at the same time

Update files as new construction documents are issued throughout the bid process

Answer inbound calls and communicate with contractors/architects on the specifics of each job

Provide excellent customer service and align all practices with organization objectives

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry related or manufacturer, vendor, distributor supported educational events (training events, presentations, workshops, etc.)

Other duties and responsibilities as needed and directed

Qualifications and Skills

2 or 4 year degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field experience preferred but not required

1 year of office related experience

Technical experience in construction, bidding, estimating, is preferred but not required

Perform basic math functions with accuracy and consistency (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percent, decimals, fractions)

Have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook and operate basic office equipment (printer, copier, phone, calculator)

Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure, deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities

Positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
